The Apeejay Stya University has been established under Haryana Act No. 10 of 2010 of the Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2010 vide Haryana Government Gazette (Extra), April 26, 2010.

University Grants Commission has recognised Apeejay Stya University under Section 2(f) and empowered to award degrees under Section 22 of the UGC Act 1956.
