About JIS University Entrance Test 2023 (JET 2023)

For admission to the Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses offered by JIS University, you have to qualify in the JIS University Entrance Test (JET-2023). This examination is conducted through ONLINE mode based on MCQ type test and can be taken by the students from anywhere. Under exceptional circumstances, this online examination can also be given by physically reporting at the University campus at Agarpara, Kolkata as per pre-defined time slots with prior registration.

It is mandatory for a student seeking admission to JIS University to appear and qualify in the entrance test (JET-2023) for admission to UG and PG courses. Students need to register for appearing in this examination by specifying the preferred time slots beforehand. How to apply for JET-2023?

Application Procedure (2023)

The examination is being conducted online so that students need not visit the University campus physically considering the present cpandemic situation and at the same time can appear for the examination from remote locations (his/her home or from nearby Cybercafe etc.). No Application Fee is charged for appearing in JET-2023. Students are required to Apply Online for appearing in the JET-2023 through the JIS University website by clicking the below link:

You need to first register yourself by providing basic details like Name, Email id, Phone Number, DOB, Valid Aadhaar Card or Voter ID or Passport etc. and then select the Program Type and Course to schedule the exam date and time as displayed in the portal. Students need to choose the date and time slots for the Online JIS University Entrance Test (JET 2023) after registration for the said examination. students can indicate their preference of subjects as applicable 1st Choice, 2nd Choice and 3rd Choice for appearing for the entrance exam. Examination Process of JET-2023

Examination Procedure

JET-2023 is an online examination that can be taken by a student using a desktop or laptop while sitting at home or a nearby Cybercafe, as per the specified time slot through prior registration. A student will receive the login credentials for the examination portals on the day of the examination. The following pre-requisites are essential during the conduction of the examination:


  • Desktop or Laptop with a minimum hardware configuration of 2GB RAM, Intel Celeron or Intel Dual-core or AMD Athlon and free disk space of 5 GB.
  • Latest version of Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome or Safari as the browser.
  • Good Internet Connection with at least 1 Mbps bandwidth.

Students can contact the Admission Cell at +91 86977 43361 / 62 / 9874375544 (JISIASR) if they fail to appear in the examination due to some emergency, and after intimation, they can reschedule the date and time of the examination. For such cases, they have to re-register for a fresh date of the online exam (JET 2023).

Question Pattern of JET-2023

Question Pattern

The question pattern for the JET-2023 examination will be MCQ type and normally of 2 hours duration (depending upon the course). There will be 100 MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) to be answered for each examination. The topics of the questions will depend on the course a student is applying for; this will include subjects like English, General Knowledge / Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning, Numerical Ability, specific subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, etc. The details are available on the website.

There is no negative marking during the evaluation process.

If a student fails to clear in the first attempt, upon the discretion of the management (to be decided on a case-to-case basis) the student may be granted one more chance to appear in the examination.

Result of JET 2023 & Admission Process

The result of the examination will be declared within 48 working hours after completion of the examination and to be intimated to the candidates individually by email. The candidates are advised to complete the process of Admission for the respective course in the University within 7 days of declaration of the JET-2023 result by contacting the Admission Cell. Students need to fill up Online Application for Admission from our website after qualifying JET 2023. They need to Click Apply Now under Admission menu in our home page.

After qualifying the Entrance Test (JET 2023) and filling up the Online Application form, the student needs to contact the Admission Department. The student will receive an 11 digit Application Id after filling up the Online Application form for Admission. The Admission department then Offers Admission and upon acceptance of Admission Offer by the Student , he/she needs to make the payment for Admission fees.

The following activities need to be carried out during the admission process:

  • Confirm Admission by making payment either through Online mode or Offline mode.
  • Complete the Physical Document Verification process by visiting the University campus with a prior appointment.

All candidates need to carry the original and self-attested photocopies of the following documents From the Standard X Board examination up to the Highest Qualifying examination passed (Standard XII Board examination / Graduation / Post Graduation) during their visit to the University campus.

  • Marksheet
  • Admit Card (indicating the Board Registration Number)
  • Pass Certificate
  • Aadhar Card (preferably) for Id Proof, or else Passport / PAN Card / Voter Id Card
  • 5 passport size photographs
  • Original Migration Certificate or Transfer Certificate or School Leaving Certificate (as applicable)

For Foreign Students

Necessary attested documents to be attached with the application form during Document Verification are mentioned below:-

  • Valid Passport
  • Five recent passport size photographs
  • 10+2 or equivalent examination mark sheet (for UG courses) / Graduation or equivalent examination mark sheet (for PG courses)
  • Marks equivalent to Grade certificate issued by the Authority (if applicable)
  • Admit Card of class 10 (age proof)
  • NOC from the concerned national Govt. for studying in India
  • Student Visa from Govt. of India

However, Foreign students are advised to contact the Admission Department for obtaining an Admission Offer Letter and get information regarding Visa processing before making any payment for admission purpose. Payment Process for Admission

Payment Process

The Admission department activates the payment gateway in the Admission portal and then only the student can pay Online by again logging into the system with his / her User id and password. Students can pay Online using Debit / Credit Card or Internet Banking through Admission portal. They can also pay through Demand Draft or through NEFT / Internet (Online) Banking / or by using UPI payment systems for eg. Google Pay, PAYTM etc. after getting the Payment Account details of JIS UNIVERSITY from the Admission department. Cash is not accepted.

However, Foreign students are advised to contact the Admission department to know about their Payment Process and obtaining an Admission Offer Letter and Visa before making any payment.

To summarise, candidates need to complete the following three steps for Admission in JIS University:-

  • After Registering for the Entrance Test and selecting the exam date/ time slot, students need to appear for an Online Entrance Test (JET 2023) at his / her location (home or cybercafé etc.) or at the University campus for taking Admission.
  • After qualifying JIS University Entrance Test, students need to fill up Online Application form for Admission by paying requsit fees.
  • The candidates need to physically visit the University campus with all original documents and one set photocopy of the document.
